Ivan Gomez

Ivan has a career spanning over twenty years in the creative and strategy industry. His passion working on campaigns for global brands led him to his passion for content, marketing and strategy, consequently founding Department of the Future in 2008. Ivan’s gift is his ability to interpret a client’s needs and bring an idea to life. As the director, he goes beyond the basics of the brief to think about what the target audience really wants, and includes in his concepts a scientific approach to the cause and effect of the way things are captured or delivered. Ivan prides himself on pursuing the best option, not the easiest option, in all forms of client servicing. He ensures that everything worked on at DOTF is data-driven and audience-led, as he sees these as essential to any strategy. Ivan’s work in content strategy has led to him being awarded a PhD in Lateral Thinking from the School of Thinking.

Matt Clear

Matt is an engaging and well-respected communications leader who uses authenticity, trust and a collaborative approach to transform organisations. Highly passionate about engaging hearts and minds through quality communications, he enjoys working at both the strategic and operational levels, consistently seeking opportunities to build strong community connections and create positive impact. Matt has previously worked as the Communications Manager for the City of Stonnington, the Communications and Membership Manager for Mental Health Victoria and the Communications and Media Advisor for the Centre of Multicultural Youth. Matt has had a close working relationship with DOTF for many years working on a number of significant digital projects that have told a broader story about the City of Stonnington. Matt also worked with DOTF to tell the story of the development of Melbourne’s largest urban parkland and the largest ever infrastructure project delivered in Stonnington. At DOTF, Matt provides leadership, stability and direction with key internal and external stakeholders and oversees the delivery of projects, whilst managing risk mitigation.

Paul Taylor

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Paul Taylor has lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the US.

Starting his career as a copywriter at Saatchi & Saatchi, London, he is a highly awarded creative (and juror) at international award shows; Cannes Gold, D&AD Pencil. Paul led M&C Saatchi Melbourne to #1 creative agency in Australia and top 50 in the world. M&C Saatchi acquired Paul’s independent agency, day&age, in 2013. As the Executive Creative Director and Co-Owner of M&C Saatchi Melbourne for four years, Paul spent the last two years establishing the brand communications platform for Bank Australia and working on various social impact projects.

Jess Fogarty

Jess Fogarty has worked in film, television and video for fifteen years, having written a West Australian Screen Award-winning short film at the age of 18 before moving to Melbourne and starting with DOTF in 2011, as an editor for Speaker TV. She has since proven her talent at both ends of the production process, developing creative and scripts, and providing post production and design services. In addition to her skills in production, her writing skills and ability to distill and disseminate information through the written word has seen her become DOTF’s primary internal creative and copywriter. Holding an Honours degree in Media and Communication from Curtin University, Jess has a unique ability to look at complex data and messaging and utilise her skills to humanise this information to create engaging and palatable comms across any medium.

Andy O’Connor

Andy has extensive experience in content creation for a range of clients, including cultural, education and entertainment organisations, including The Craft, Phantasmagoria and the Australian Myanmar Institute. Starting with DOTF as a content writer, Andy has been a key member of our executive accounts team, and has worked with a vast array of clients, including Our Watch, NAIDOC, RMIT, Monash University, City of Melbourne, Music Victoria, The Song Room, The City of Stonnington, Jimmy Barnes' Working Class Man Tour, Peter Rowland Catering, Harry The Hirer, The Song Room, First Nations Foundation and many more. As Head of Content, Andy combines his experience as both content creator and account manager to develop and execute strong content strategies that take into account all of a project’s stakeholders and engage the right audiences.

Peter Barrie

A highly accomplished media and advertising executive, Peter has over 25 year's experience leading major media businesses in Australia and the UK, including Fairfax Media, Carat, Scoopon, MediaCom and Found Digital. Peter has also worked as an advisor for St Kilda Football Club, and the Melbourne United Basketball team, helping to create a pathway for greater commercial success. Peter is passionate about media, advertising and communications, particularly focusing on innovative models to create business growth, and DOTF is fortunate to have him on call to bring his expertise and authority in media strategy to our offer.

Peter Handberg

Peter Handberg honed his market engagement skills in direct marketing at BMW Australia & then at Mercedes-Benz Australia as Product & Marketing Planning Manager and Manager, Olympic VIP Program before becoming their Manager for Corporate Strategy & Business Development.  He has since worked as a Director for national events and marketing agencies applying his specialisation for reading markets, identifying, scoping & building extended market opportunity to a wide client base.

Dan Farmer

Unlocking his love for film 17 years ago, Dan mixes experience with passion. Since graduating from the Footscray City Film and Television School, he's crewed on local and international feature film productions, music videos, commercials, and dozens of shorts, shooting on a project basis throughout Asia, Africa, UK, Europe and South America. In 2016, he completed a Masters in Film & TV at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Specialising in the camera department, Farmer has a natural flair for experimentation and a desire to push the limits of what is cinematically possible with new generation cameras as a RED Epic owner / operator. Most recently, Dan's short film, The Starey Bampire, won a number of awards including Best Film, Best Comedy, Best Director and Best Cinematography.

Harry Charnock

Harry Charnock is an Australian based cinematographer whose experience spans commercials, branded content, documentaries and ARIA nominated music videos. Harry’s passion for fast action stabilised cinematography led him to launching The Mountain Goats who specialise in all-terrain motion film capture using high end technology rigged to a number of different vehicles. Harry has worked for a wide range of clients such as Ford, Holden, Honda, Mazda, Tesla and Red Bull Media House. He also directs, edits and colour-grades making him a strong asset to any production.

Billy Crombie

Billy Crombie is a Melbourne-based videographer and editor. After completing his Bachelor degree in film and television from Swinburne University he worked as a freelancer for clients including Living Histories and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation. Since joining the DOTF team he has worked with various clients including Our Watch, NAIDOC, RMIT, Monash University, City of Melbourne, Music Victoria, The Song Room, Melbourne Polytechnic and Jimmy Barnes.

Carolina Rodriguez

Carolina has over 15 years of experience in design and brand strategy. Working seamlessly across a variety of mediums, Carolina maintains a consistent approach to design, sense of typography and attention to detail. She has a collaborative, inclusive approach with clients and colleagues alike and is skilled in being able to look at the big picture, distil it down to the finer detail and produce engaging, finely crafted outcomes that go beyond client expectations. Carolina has collaborated on many projects at DOTF including Scooty, Bunjil Place and World Skills Australia.

Amelia Farmer

Amelia has over a decade’s experience producing video and has worked with DOTF since 2013. Her attention to detail and problem solving skills are second-to-none, leading her to work with clients including Honda, Laminex, Western Bulldogs, Reid Cycles, Monash University, Deakin University, the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards and many more. As well as her extensive experience as a producer, Amelia also worked as a casting associate for over four years at Flinders Lane Productions, a company servicing clients including Coles, Target and Jetstar.

Paul McDonnell

The visionary Paul James McDonnell is an award-winning writer/director and animation/VFX artist with extensive experience in the film, television and online production industry. His work has won major prizes in Italy, America and Australia and he was awarded the best television commercial in Italy for one of Europe’s biggest energy companies ENI. Paul's work spans live action and animated television campaigns with multi-million dollar budgets to working on avant-garde Italian films. Paul has worked on commercials with great actors, including Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts, and was featured in Italian Vogue among the most talented Australians working in the film and television industry in Europe, alongside Cate Blanchett and Baz Luhrmann. He was nominated for an Italian Oscar for his work on Corrado Guzzanti’s hit feature film “Fascisti su Marte”.
