ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF THE FUTURE
Department of the Future was never built to be a traditional agency.
For eighteen years, we’ve created content at the intersection of strategy, storytelling and community. From our early days putting local artists in the spotlight with our music TV show Speaker TV, to supporting the most vulnerable communities across Australia through working with NAIDOC, St Vincent de Paul, Brotherhood of St Lawrence and Djirra. From helping to create safer, healthier societies for our kids with Our Watch, The Line and The Song Room, to helping household names share vulnerable moments, like Jimmy Barnes’ Working Class Boy documentary.
We’ve worked across disability and accessibility, mental health and wellbeing, trauma-informed communication and consent education, First Nations engagement, education at all levels and above all else, community.
As we turn eighteen and look at the future, we understand that our greatest projects are connected by community and responsibility.
We translate complex ideas into accessible communication.
We transform research into understanding.
And we turn difficult conversations into opportunities for participation, support and change.
Education, inclusion and social impact: that’s what Department of the Future was built for. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a unique ability to communicate important conversations with understanding, authenticity and impact.
